Abrasive sandblasting not only removes rust and visible surface contamination, but also creates a surface roughness ideal for adhesion. This surface roughness is known as the surface profile.
The surface profile is essential for the coating result, as it improves adhesion by increasing the contact surface. Surface profiles will vary depending on the size of the abrasive particles as well as the technique used.
